Stablecoins give freelancers one of the fastest ways to get paid by clients abroad. A client in the US, Europe or the Middle East sends USDC or USDT, and you receive it in minutes, any day of the week, without waiting for a bank transfer to clear.

But if you've never received stablecoin payments before, it can feel confusing. Which wallet do you use? What's a network? What happens if your client picks the wrong one? One small mistake can delay your payment, or worse, send your money somewhere you can't get it back from.

This guide explains how to receive stablecoin payments from clients, step by step. You'll learn what stablecoins are, how to set up your wallet, what to tell your client and what to do with your USDC and USDT once you've been paid.

What are stablecoin payments?

A stablecoin is a digital dollar. It's a type of cryptocurrency designed to keep the same value as a regular currency, usually the US dollar. USDC and USDT are two of the most widely used, and each one is designed to stay equal to $1.

That makes stablecoins different from cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, whose price can rise or fall a lot in a single day. When a client pays you 500 USDC, you receive the equivalent of $500.

Stablecoins move on blockchains, which are digital networks that record every transaction. Each blockchain is called a network, such as Ethereum, Solana or Tron. To receive a stablecoin payment, you need a wallet address, which works like an account number, on the same network your client sends from.

Why freelancers get paid in stablecoins

  • Payments arrive fast. Stablecoin payments usually arrive within minutes, depending on the network, and they move 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
  • Your money keeps its dollar value. Because USDC and USDT are designed to stay equal to $1, your earnings hold their value while you decide what to do with them.
  • It's easy for clients who already use crypto. If your client holds stablecoins on an exchange like Binance or Coinbase, paying you is as simple as sending to your wallet address.
  • You can use them right away. On Raenest, you can hold, save, convert, spend or send your stablecoins from the same app you use for your other currencies.

How to receive stablecoin payments from clients on Raenest

Step 1: Create your USDC or USDT wallet

Before a client can pay you, you need a wallet for the stablecoin they'll send. On Raenest, setting one up takes less than a minute.

  1. Download and open the Raenest app and tap Accounts.
  2. If you do not have a USD account yet, you will be prompted to complete a short questionnaire to open one.
  3. Switch from the Global tab to the Stablecoin tab.
  4. Tap USDC or USDT and follow the prompt to create your wallet.
  5. Once set, you can receive USDT and USDC through Ethereum, Tron, Solana, Polygon or Binance network addresses.
  6. Any USDC/USDT received is automatically credited your USDC or USDT wallet.

Your new wallet appears on the Stablecoin tab with its own balance, address and transaction history. You can create both a USDC and a USDT wallet, so you're ready whichever one your client prefers.

Step 2: Copy your wallet address

Your wallet address is a long string of letters and numbers that tells your client where to send the money. Think of it as your account number for stablecoins.

  1. On the Stablecoin tab, select your USDC or USDT wallet.
  2. Find your wallet address on the card.
  3. Tap the address to copy it.

Always copy and paste your address instead of typing it out. One wrong character can send your payment to the wrong place.

Step 3: Tell your client the stablecoin, the network and your address

This is the most important step. Your client needs three things: which stablecoin to send (USDC or USDT), which network to send it on, and your wallet address for that network.

Raenest supports stablecoin deposits on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain (Binance), Polygon, Tron and Solana. The network your client sends on must match the network of the address you share. If it doesn't, the payment may not arrive.

Here's a simple message you can send your client:

Hi [client name], here are my payment details for invoice [number]: Stablecoin: USDT Network: Tron (TRC-20) Wallet address: [paste your address] Please make sure you send on the Tron network only. Thank you!

Step 4: Confirm the payment has arrived

Once your client sends the payment, it usually arrives within a few minutes, depending on the network and how busy it is. You'll see it in your USDC or USDT wallet on the Stablecoin tab, along with the transaction in your history.

Incoming stablecoins stay in their own wallets, so your USDC and USDT stay as USDC and USDT until you decide what to do with them.

Step 5: Decide what to do with your stablecoins

Once you've received your stablecoin payment, you have five options on Raenest.

Hold them. Keep your USDC and USDT in their wallets, where they keep their dollar value until you need them.

Earn on them. Move them into the Stablecoin Vault and earn up to 7% APY on your balance. APY, or annual percentage yield, is what you'd earn over a year, including the extra you earn when your earnings start earning too. The minimum deposit is $100. Your earnings are added every day, you can withdraw anytime, and each withdrawal costs $0.20. The APY is variable, so it can go up or down with market conditions. Convert them. Tap Convert to change your stablecoins into USD, GBP, EUR, NGN or another supported currency. The rate, fee and estimated arrival time all show before you confirm.

Spend them. Pay directly from your USDC or USDT balance with your Raenest card, anywhere Visa is accepted, in stores and online. You don't need to convert first, and there are no card funding fees.

Send them. Send USDC or USDT to an external wallet on supported networks, including Ethereum, Binance, Solana and Polygon. Raenest charges $2 + 0.3% per send, with the percentage fee capped at $5. A network fee, also called a gas fee, may also apply, and it changes with the network and the amount.

How your client sends you stablecoins

Most clients pay in stablecoins from a crypto exchange or wallet. The steps are similar on every platform:

  1. Your client goes to Withdraw or Send in their exchange or wallet.
  2. They choose the stablecoin you asked for, USDC or USDT.
  3. They paste your Raenest wallet address as the recipient.
  4. They select the same network as the address you shared.
  5. They confirm the amount and complete any security checks.

Frequently asked questions
